Unrealistic P/L

 3/5

I’ve been a member for six months, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way you’re getting near Dean’s recorded P/L is if you’re betting with small stakes and are unrestricted everywhere.

Everything is recorded at top price, which is generally fine for the match odds but not for outrights and correct scores.

To illustrate this, a couple of weeks ago a player was tipped at 500/1 e/w for 0.25 pts e/w at the British Open, which was a price offered by one bookmaker. The next highest price available was 300/1. In the end the player was eliminated at the QF stage, but had he won and you couldn’t get on at the one bookmaker who had 500/1 that would have been at least a 75 point difference between your profit and what he’s recorded.

He’s recommended the same player to win his quarter this week at 18/1 (with one firm, 14/1 the second highest priced) for a 1 point stake.

Dean generally goes between 1 and 3 points with his match betting, so a halfway serious punter might decide to stake £50 a point or higher. For a niche market like quarter betting, I’m not sure Hills would lay £50 at 18/1 and if they did and it won you’d probably be looking at the end of that account.

He gets three because he probably is profitable long-term on prices which people can realistically get on, but a lot of his profit seems to be based on big winners which are at odds which are unattainable for the average punter.

Consistent at Finding Great Value

 5/5

I’ve followed DS Snooker for years. And for years he’s been consistent at finding great value and a number of winners in a sport I know nothing about (apart from that ChasnDave song!).

He’s now gone fully premium but as his stats show, it’s worth the money!

Dropped below the 5% ROI

 4/5

Dean was one of the first tipsters to join Betting Kingdom when it was a tipster competition. He’s tipped on a number of sports down the years including football, handball, volleyball and snooker. As the years passed his results improved and eventually he focused purely on the snooker picks. I’m really pleased that Dean has able to set up his own premium service and I think his results speak for themselves. I made a superb start following Dean and my profit peaked at +40pts. Such is the nature of his approach I’ve recently endured a losing spell which at one stage included 21 losing bets from 22 selections. My approach to following tipsters is to target a ROI of 5%. If I pass the 250 bet mark and full below that level then I chose to stop following. Sadly that has been the case with DS Snooker. After such a great start I stopped with a profit of +8pts and a 3.7% ROI (doesn’t include subscriptions). I wish Dean every success and historical results suggest this is just a blip. But with my limited time I’m keen to explore more tipsters and so have decided to move on.

EDITOR INSIGHT

 0/5

DS Snooker is a premium online tipster service. In 2020-21 he ended the campaign with +57pts profit and a ROI just shy of 10%. In 2021-22 he made a whopping £178.4pts profit with a 13% ROI. 2022-23 was his best season to date with over +300pts from and a sensational 24.8% ROI.

Recent results have proved a struggle and as of January 14th 2024 the profit for the season was +22.8pts from 459 bets with a ROI of 3.11%. I know some of his followers have taken quite a hit in recent months but hopefully things will pick up before the season is out.

Tips are shared via his Telegram channel and he uses a number of different bookmakers, mainly the ones you’ll find on the oddschecker grid. His approach is to back outsiders, often at double figure prices in matches. This can result in losing streaks so please bear this in mind when signing up and selecting your stakes.
