Having just posted my frustration at tipsters that use the term “fair price”, some might argue I am contradicting myself with this approach to golf betting.
With these 3 selections for the RBC Canadian Open all being well backed, it’s natural to assume the value has gone. But has it? Well I want to find out. Could it be as simple as following the most popular tips from the leading golf tipsters? Even if waiting to Wednesday to place our bets? And if it is, then why is everyone not doing it? That’s more questions than my ADHD girlfriend asks during an episode of Taskmaster.
At the halfway stage last week I was already starting to question this approach with both players +3 and 10 shots off the lead.
It wasn’t until Monday morning when I stuck the highlights on You Tube, and saw Straka on the mini leaderboard that I even realised what was going on.
The big Austrian bagged me a nice each way payout, to get this idea off to a decent start, so I’ll continue to test the waters. I’ve got 22 golf tipsters on my list and I simply compile who they are tipping.
Some golf tipsters I’ve given more weight than others, for obvious reasons, and then I simply back the most tipped players. Simples.
This week those players are Taylor Pendrith, Sam Burns and Ryan Fox. As mentioned at the start of my ramblings, prices have inevitably tumbled. But many of these golf tipsters on my list are working to a ROI of over 50% this year.
So that suggests to me we can take the lower prices and potentially still return a healthy profit. I’ve also played the markets. I like the idea that all 3 bets could actually payout in full, something which can never happen if backing all your selections in the outright market.
I won’t go too much into the reasons why these players have been popular, because you probably already know that if you’re a golf betting enthusiast, instead I’ll try and credit those tipsters who have done the hard work.
So Pendrith. A home favourite. Top 5 Finishes in Houston and the US PGA in his last 7 starts. Top 25 here last year. Easy to see why Dave Tindall, Jamie Worsley, Steve Palmer, Joe Champion and Tom Jacobs have all put him up.
Another player tipped by Jacobs, in fact he was the only tipster to back all 3 in his Today’s Golfer article is Sam Burns. Ben Coley, Jamie Worsley and Joe Champion are the other big name tipsters on my list to back the American.

No @LostForePod or @MayoMediaNet for me this week, due to scheduling. Back next week for the U.S. Open!

He’s had some strong finishes in this event in recent years including 4th and 10th in his last 3 attempts. His recently form is solid rather than spectacular with Top 20s in 4 of his last 5 events.
We’ll wrap this up with Ryan Fox. A recent winner in Myrtle Beach and top 30 finishes at Muirfield Village and Quail Hollow.
The big hitting Kiwi finished in the Top 10 here last year when 7th and looks a “fair pair” (just kidding) to repeat that in 2025. Credit to Dave Tindall, Steve Palmer, Niall Lyons and Tom Jacobs for putting up Fox.
Check out my “Most Profitable Golf Tipsters of 2025” post. Obviously some of the stats will have been updated now but it’s a good starting point when considering who to follow.
Good luck with your golf bets this week and always gamble responsibly.
