I love the player markets. There’s more value to be had. Sometimes it’s simply a case of shopping around for the best price.

That’s the case with my first free tip on the Europa League Final between Manchester United v Tottenham. Bentacur to be carded. His average price on the oddschecker grid is 2.7, yet Kambi are offering us 3.35. We’re almost creeping into Super Boost territory there.

Lewis Jones is very excited about this selection in his post over at the Betfair Blog. But he’s tipped it at 2.75 (7/4) and he believes that offers good value. So the much higher price is a real gem, if you can get it of course, I can.

Lewis provides some brilliant stats so all the credit goes to him for this one. Although it has to be said Alex Wrigley who posted for Betway Insider has also backed Bentacur alongside Ugarte, but his insight is pretty poor in comparison.

So. Bentacur. 0.52 bookings per 90 minutes since the start of last season. Cheers Lewis for that stat. Of all the players to play 2,000+ minutes of Premier League football in that period, that’s the highest figure. What a gem.

He’s also been booked in 5 of his last 7 for Uruguay. I won’t steal all the best stats, click on the link above the read Lewis’s post.

What about Ugarte?. I’ve found myself backing him a few times this season as he’s a bit of a card magnet. James Milton posted the selection over at the Racing Post with some great stats to back it up. 11 this season. The most recent at Stamford Bridge despite only playing the last 20 minutes.

In fact Ugarte has only started 22 of the 37 Premier League fixtures this season, but despite that figure he’s still committed more fouls than any other Man United player (41).

Ugarte was booked against Spurs at Old Trafford earlier in the season and also carded in his last two World Cup Qualifiers.

What of the ref? It’s Felix Zwayer. He averages 5.33 cards per 90 which is awesome. And the last two Europa League Finals have produced a whopping 15 yellow cards.

As well as investing 1pt on the two selections as singles I’ve also taken the double at 8/1. Yes it does suck a bit of juice out of the odds, but if the ref does start dishing cards out, then the odds of both being booked do rise.
