Blackjack is a fan favourite among casino players, the basic objective of this card game is to land cards that have a total higher than that of the dealer’s but less than 21. It won’t be surprising why Blackjack is also called “21”.
But before we get into the gameplay, you must know that Blackjack is one of the first casino games to be invented. It is debated that its origins go way back to the early eighteenth century. From then on Blackjack has witnessed multiple evolutions. The traditional format of the game has been modified multiple times.
It’s not just that, there has been dramatic shifts in accessibility as well, this legendary casino game has gone from being restricted to landbased casinos to becoming accessible to millions of players all across the globe through online casino platforms. Modern technology has developed enough for players to be able to play their favourite casino games on mobiles. For example, you can play an unlimited number of casino games on the phone at Swift Casino.
Blackjack is a simple game, and it won’t take much time to learn. To ease the process, here is a step-by-step process on how you can play Blackjack:
1.Wager:
Before the game begins, you must place your bet. Most modern online casino games offer flexible betting ranges. You can use the buttons and adjust the bet amount according to your preferences. Once all players place their bets, the game begins.
2.Cards are Dealt:
The dealer begins the game by distributing two cards to each player in the clockwise direction. Both these cards are placed with their faces up, except for the dealer who receives one card with its face up and another with the face down ( also known as the “hole card”). In case you land an Ace card and a 10, you would instantly land a total value of 21 and win the game. However, if the dealer also gets a 21, the round is considered a “push” and your bet stays on the game table.
3.Make Your Decision
If no one has received 21, then players are offered a list of options on how to process. They are:
Stand: You can continue playing with the same cards.
Hit: You can change the card and possibly stand a chance to increase the total card value.
Double down: Double the bet and take a new card. Most times, this option is chosen by players who already have a 10 or 11 card.
Split: In case you land a pair, for example, two 6s, you can double the bet and split the two cards into two hands. These two hands will be played in turns. Experts advise to split pairs of Aces and 8s, and never 10s.
4.The Dealer’s Turn
Once all players have made their choices, the dealer reveals the card that had been kept with its face down until now. If the total of dealer’s cards is 16 or less, then can change cards until the value is 17 or less. If it goes over 17, the dealer must stop. If any of the players has a value more than the dealers and close to 21, then they win the game. However, if a player lands a total value more than 21, then they instantly “bust” and lose the game.
5.The System Of Payouts
If the player wins by landing a value more than the dealer’s and close to 21, then the player is awarded a prize worth 1:1 on their bet. However, if by chance the player lands a Blackjack ( a total value of 21 on the first distribution itself) then the player will be awarded a prize worth 3:2 on their bet. But if you bust and lose the game, then the player will lose the amount they had wagered. In case, the game ends in a “push” or a draw, the bet amount the player had wagered would be maintained to the next round.
While this is the process that a simple Blackjack game would process, the modern versions of Blackjack may have some slight modifications made to offer players a new and fun Blackjack experience. However, there is nothing to worry, the modifications will not be difficult, and most games come with a set of instructions that will help you understand the gameplay easily.
