Having been in this industry for well over 20 years myself, I’m well aware of the success story of MrFixitsTips (MFT). I think it’s important now to mention Paul Jain who created the site, he sadly passed away in 2020 at the tender age of 55.
I know for a long time they paid tribute to Paul across the site but his name seems to be hidden now on the platform, so I wanted to make sure he gets most of the credit. CLICK HERE to read more about Paul.
The site was recently taken over by a company called the North Star network who own other sites like Football Whispers and Sports Mole. I think their approach is quantity over quality and like so many other free betting tips websites they do rely on bookmaker affiliate commission to survive.
But MFT are definitely one of the good guys in this industry and they’ve always teamed up with some solid tipsters like SlipsTips and in the past The Caddy.
They cover all major football matches and within their articles you will always get reasoning behind their selections. Normally you can expect anywhere between 2-3 tips per match.
I’ll be honest though, as someone that has been betting for nearly 30 years now, I’ve never once placed a bet based on advice from the MFT site. Which given I have followed a lot of tipsters down the years is a bit concerning.
Why you ask? Well a number of reasons. Mainly because they’ve never tracked the results of tips posted on their website. So whilst the reasoning might be solid, we don’t know if the selections posted are actually worth backing.
They might be solid bets, but are the odds value? If you’re not being judged by profit as a tipster, you can pretty much post whatever selection you want, regardless if the price is correct.
Today for example (the day I posted this). They’ve tipped Mbappe to score against Man City in the Champions League. The stats are convincing, 25 goals in all comps, 9 in the Champions League, 4 in 2 games v Man City, but are the odds of 5/6 value? Probably not. And MFT don’t really care, so long as they get enough of their visitors signing up to the bookmakers, that is what they are most interested in.
That might be a little harsh as I’m sure the tipsters posting the free betting tips still want them to do well. Otherwise visitors won’t return, but they’re not being judged by how successful their tips are.
As well as not offering any profit or loss stats, they don’t have a staking plan. Which is always a concern.
As much as I like MFT and what they represent, as a punter I would always personally go to a rival site like SportingLife, where they do track results and they do recommend how much you should stake on their tips.
I wish MFT every success but for me, there are better options out there. If you’ve made money following the tips from MFT then please leave a review below.
