Ok. So these are not my own tips. I have come to the conclusion after my recent posted about the most profitable golf tipsters of 2025, that I need to be betting on golf more. Simple.
But what approach do I take? Simply following a tipster like Ben Coley can be incredibly frustrating as it’s rare I can match the odds quoted, and I’m left tearing my eyebrows out.
Plus that can mean investing quite a lot each week, not to mention inevitable bad runs, and if you start at the wrong time you could quickly wrack up some hefty losses.
So instead I am going to be more selective. My approach has been to list over 20 of the best free golf betting tipsters online. Hand picked from my comprehensive list of golf experts.
Much like the excellent Golf Tips Checker, I will compile the most popular selections from those 20 tipsters. The main difference between my approach and that of Golf Tips Checker, is my list is much more refined and ignores a lot of punters imitating as tipsters on social media.
I’ve also given extra weight to the top tipsters. Again, GTC, to my knowledge simply do a tally of which players get the most picks. But surely a tip by Ben Coley holds more weight than some noddy with 50 followers and no interest in providing any insight?
So that’s my plan. I’ll wait til Wednesday to let the markets settle. Invariably I will miss out on the best prices, but then it’s my intention to play the markets to find the best odds. You don’t have to bet outright you know.
So Week 1. The Charles Schwab Challenge. That is the tournament I am focusing on and I have two selections. First up Harris English.

No surprise really as he’s been a popular tip. Coley, Jeremy Chapman, Steve Bamford (yes he’s on my list) and Steve Palmer have all tipped English. It’s easy to see why.
Runner up last week at Quail Hollow after a final round off 66. He was one of the few players I backed myself last week, so landed a £150 payout. Thanks Ben.
English ranked 2nd in Strokes Gained Tee To Green last week and continues a strong run of form which saw him finish T12 at the US Masters and T11 in the Truist.
His win at Torrey Pines in January has him sitting pretty in 7th place in the current Ryder Cup standings and that would appear to be his main goal for 2025.
English was 5th here on debut in 2012 and runner up in 2016. He boasts 6 Top 30 finishes in total at Colonial and the Top 10 market looks the best option now the outright price has been hammered.
Next up, Daniel Berger. Tipped by Chapman, Matt Vincenzi, Palmer and Sam Eaton. Again, another obvious choice and whilst 5/1 for a Top 5 finish might seem a tad low, I’m trusting this new approach.
Berger won the title here in 2020. His recent form has been excellent with Top 25 finishes in 8 of his last 9 tournaments. He was T2 in Phoenix and T3 in the Heritage.
Last week in the US PGA he struck the ball nicely, ranking 5th in Strokes Gained Off the Tee and 15th in Strokes Gained Approach.
