From an affiliate point of view we were lured in with the offer of 30% commission on all referred players, for life. It’s the reason I gave up my well paid job at the time, to move back in with my parents in my mid 20s to try and make a living as a betting affiliate.
Let’s get one thing clear, bet365 have done well off me, earning over £700,000 from the customers I have sent their way. So you think there would be some gratitude there. Out of the blue they pulled the plug on the deal. No more commission. All those customers are now there’s and I won’t see anymore, despite the promise they used to get us promoting them in the first place.
Around a similar time they decided they didn’t want me betting either. At the time my stakes were limited to £1, I checked my history, I was winning, but only £75 per month. That apparently was too much for bet365 to allow. A company that paid their owner £250 million pound in a year, were not letting customers win £75 per month.
How is this allowed? Where are the gambling commission when you need them?
What have I done wrong? I’ve only bet on the markets they have offered. I’ve not broken any rules. But decided enough was enough and they needed to make more profit. That’s the only reason to ban winning customers like me. To make more profit.
It begs the question, how much profit is enough. Clearly their actions suggest £250 million a year for their owner isn’t enough. If it were they would accept that some punters are going to win a small amount, let them continue, but no, they’re not having that.
I understand this is the way the industry has gone, but it also really upsets me that the way bet365 have treated me as a customer and a partner.
I’ve simply received automated messages via email to notify me that both my betting account and affiliate deal were being cancelled. Naturally I replied asking for more information, more than once, they chose to ignore me. Disappointing.
I’m moving on. I’ve still got this website and it’s making me a few quid. It offers me the opportunity to share reviews like this and educate others. I’ve also stopped betting altogether pretty much and have new hobbies now. One which still fuel my addictive personality but in a much more healthy way.
So time for me to move on. Thank you bet365 for all that you’ve done and the opportunities that you gave me, but also shame on your for the way you ended it.
