Jack Critchley is a free online football betting tipster who focuses on the Championship. He has popped up across a number of platforms in recent years including William Hill, ThatsAGoal and MansionBet.
The main place to catch his free tips on the second tier of English football is the excellent Betfair Blog.
As always with picks posted on that platform, each selection comes with in depth previews as to why you should follow that tip. That’s something you won’t necessarily find from a lot of football tipsters, even ones that charge money to follow them.
Jack has been tipping on the Betfair Blog since 2019. The one main downside with that website now is they don’t often display the profit and loss of their tipsters.
So whether you’d actually win money following Jack’s tips I’m not so sure. In the defence of any tipster working for a third party platform, they are often told which matches they have to preview.
Straight away that makes the task of finding value much harder. They also have to use odds from Betfair. And whilst the exchange normally offers the opportunity to find value, there are times you’d get better prices elsewhere.
So from that angle you can understand why it would be a bit misleading to judge a tipster based on their profit (or loss) posting tips for a site like Betfair.
So does that mean you should ignore the tips and the experts they pay to post content? No, it doesn’t, but you should be selective.
Read some of the previews and make your own mind up. It’s a fun way to bet and you can be more selective with your wagers. You’ll likely see much better returns than betting more frequently with far less consideration for your bets.
So check out Jack Critchley. The fact he’s suggested Norwich will finish 4th in the Championship next season is music to my ears. I hope he’s right!
