Bit of a struggle to find a favourite bet today. I checked out the new Betfair Blog which I believe looks much worse than the previous version. Let’s hope they didn’t waste too much money on that.
There were a few bets on there I liked but Mateta to score again was an obvious choice after he was the man responsible for getting me back into betting and posting these selections.
The Palace hitman has been in superb form with 9 goals in his last 11 games. It helps when you have Olise and Eze to provide you with opportunities in the box.
The Eagles are soaring right now and confidence must be at an all time high after their 4-0 home win over Manchester United on Monday.
The obvious concern here is that Mateta has done his best work in front of goal at the comforts of Selhurst Park, but he has scored at Forest, Everton and Man City on his travels of late.
Palace are well fancied here taking on a Wolves team that have managed just 1 win in their last 9 matches in all competitions. It’s all 6 without a clean sheet at home and 4 defeats in their last 5 at Molineux.
You often find with these end of season matches were neither side has anything on the line that open attacking football is encouraged and the goals fly in. That’s what I am hoping for here.
If there is one lesson I’ve learned in 20 years of betting it’s if you find a value selection, keep on hammering it, over and over again. Tipsters have built entire reputations on this approach.
The Karlovic & Isner tie break bets spring to mind with crazy prices offered up on a regular basis. I miss those days when the bookies were completely hopeless and also willing to take our bets.
Another one which springs to mind is the Both Teams to receive 20+ booking points with Mike Dean in charge. Honestly I saw a few tipsters build a solid reputation purely on that bet alone. It was bonkers.
So I’m following suit and backing Mateta for a second time this week. Hopefully the strategy pays off and I can land my second winner.
