Wow. Just Wow. I could actually end this write up there, such is the magnitude of the impression this site has made on me. And I only spent 10 minutes looking around.
It raises the question, will there come a time when we don’t even need tipsters? That’s a bit harsh on those making a profit and beating the bookmakers, but so simple are the features on Footy Metrics it got me wondering.
So what is Footy Metrics you ask? Well it displays player props, odds and team stats on their website. Probably the easier way of describing it would be to provide you with an example of how I used the site.
So I quickly filtered the menu down to the Premier League, Championship and League One and selected “Goals”. Within a matter of seconds, Footy Metrics told me who the in form strikers were. So Joe Gelhardt of Hull has scored in his last 4 matches on the spin and can be backed at 10/3 to make it 5.
Jack Marriott of Reading has scored in 5 of his last 6 games, and is available at 11/4 in his next match to continue that streak.
Footy Metrics display the content beautifully and include information such as the recent opponents and also the time the player spent on the pitch.
I did some more searches. Player Shots was my next stat to investigate. I focused on the Premier League and set the minimum odds to Evens (2.0) as I hate backing player at a shorter price.
What Footy Metrics quickly revealed was the Krejci of Wolves had registered a shot in his last 8 matches, yet bookies were offering us Evens in their next match away to Chelsea.
It doesn’t focus on just one line either. It will adjust it to the player on the list. Ayari of Brighton is averaging 2.5 shots per games across his last 8 matches, hitting 2 or more in 6 of those games, yet the bookmakers are offering us 12/5 (3.4) for Over 1.5 shots away to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
This is great and to be honest I have only just skimmed the surface of this website. I’m sure there is so much more available. I’m actually keen to back a few of those players now based on the stats that Footy Metrics have provided.
This site is currently free to use as it’s in the beta testing phase. But I’d be amazed if that is the case for long. I think if I were gambling more frequently like I was in the past, I would favour a website like this, to following a traditional football tipster.
Why? Because it allows me to search a lot more stats and decide for myself if the odds offer value. It’s superb. I’m buzzing. Fair play to whoever has created this website and I wish them every success going forward.
There is one obvious draw back. And that’s odds availability. Bookies are not just going to sit on their hands whilst sites like this provide punters ammunition. They will use the site too and quickly adjust their prices and probably highlight smart punters who are backing these player at the top of the search results. So be wise, by all means utilise this information, but perhaps place some mug bets and accumulators as well. Otherwise you might find yourself in my position, struggling to even place a bet.
