The Sooners kick off Saturday. Your cousin in Dallas has a betting app, and you’re in Norman with nothing to open. That’s still the picture in late October 2026: Oklahoma has no legal sportsbook, in person or on a phone. A new state gambling law also takes effect on November 1. Here’s what the official record says, what offshore books post for Oklahoma teams, and how a futures ticket works in dollars.
Is sports betting legal in Oklahoma right now?
No. The state hasn’t authorized sports wagering of any kind. Tribal nations run most of Oklahoma’s casino gaming under compacts with the state, and adding sports bets would take a new supplement to that compact.
The closest try came this spring. On April 21, 2026, Sen. Bill Coleman filed a new version of House Bill 1047 with Rep. Ken Luttrell. The Senate says it had support from the Oklahoma City Thunder, a supermajority of the tribes in the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association and the state’s leading public universities.
Under that plan, tribes would keep the exclusive right to offer gaming. Fans could bet in person at tribal casinos or on mobile apps run through tribal partners. The state would get 8% of the adjusted transactional total as exclusivity fees.
It didn’t pass. On April 22, the Senate voted 21-27 against it, and the motion to reconsider expired on April 28. The next regular session opens in February 2027.
What does SB 1589 change on November 1?
Senate Bill 1589 rewrites Section 941 of Title 21, the state’s ban on running gambling games. It adds a definition of “online casino games.” That means any game reached on a phone, computer, tablet or watch that, once a person risks something of value, simulates a casino game “or any other form of gambling.”
Coins in a sweepstakes-style dual-currency system count as value too. Running such a game is a Class C2 felony with a fine of $500 to $2,000. So is supporting one as an owner, employee, platform provider, promoter or media affiliate, among others. Charity games and tribal gaming under federal law are exempt.
The Senate passed it 48-0 and the House 65-21. The governor vetoed it on May 7, and both chambers overrode him on May 14. The text never uses the words “sports betting,” but its definition is broad. What can you bet on for Oklahoma teams?
Everygame posts futures on the state’s three biggest teams. These are its decimal prices on October 29, 2026:
| Market | Oklahoma team | Price | A $20 ticket returns |
|---|---|---|---|
| To make the College Football Playoff | Oklahoma State | 8.00 | $160 |
| To make the College Football Playoff | Sooners | 15.00 | $300 |
| National championship | Sooners | 101.00 | $2,020 |
| Northwest Division winner | Thunder | 1.39 | $27.80 |
| NBA championship | Thunder | 4.90 | $98 |
The math is simple. Multiply your stake by the decimal price to get the full return, stake included. A $20 ticket on the Sooners making the playoff at 15.00 pays back $300, which is $280 of profit. Prices move every week, so the number you see later may differ.
How do offshore sportsbooks fit in?
Offshore books sit outside Oklahoma’s system and take bets from many countries. None of them is licensed by the state. Each sets its own rules on who can open an account.
Everygame has taken bets online since 1996, by its own account, and calls itself an offshore book serving eligible bettors in the US and abroad. Its rules say it may decline new US accounts at its discretion, and they leave checking local law to you. So read the eligibility rules and SB 1589 before you sign up.
One login covers the sportsbook and two casinos, in any phone or desktop browser. There’s no app to download.
