Ever since the day I started betting, my only goal has been to beat the bookmakers. Nearly 30 years on from my first bet, nothing has changed.
So that’s the question I ask whenever I land on a website, how can this help me beat the bookmakers? In a world with so much information, we want quick advice that we don’t have to work for.
GG is a site I’ve known about for many years. I once sat at a dinner table in a corporate suite at Newbury Racecourse next to two of their employees, all laid out by bet365 affiliates, back in the day when this site used to make money.
So I was disappointed at my most recent visit when I was bombarded with free bets and bookmaker sign up offers on their homepage. It’s pretty much all you’ll see when you first load up the page on your desktop. To the extent the real identity of GG is loss.
For this is a horse racing website. A very good one at that. Racecards, results, A-Z of Runners, race predictions and some very good horse racing tipsters. But you have to ignore the free bet promos to find this.
I don’t blame GG. It’s an competitive industry and they rely on affiliate income to continue to survive. Free bets are the best way of tempting customers to open new bookmaker accounts. But I wish it were a little more subtle.
Moving beyond that, will you make a profit following the tips provided at GG? It’s hard to say really as they don’t seem to track the profit and loss of their tipsters.
I know when Daryl Carter was there, they always promoted his success, but it doesn’t appear they track their tipsters selections anymore.
Andrew Mount is sold as their leading tipster. With over 20 years of experience, a previous racecourse bookmaker, multiple winner of the Scoop 6 and even a successful owner, his regular tips appear to be more for content than profit. Perhaps I’m being a little harsh.
David Young, Joe Napier and Steve Chambers make up the GG tipping team and also keep us up to date with the latest news.
If you are a relatively casual racing punter you’ll find everything you need here, but if you’re purely interested in profit, like me, then perhaps there are better options available these days.
You can leave a review of GG below. This will help boost their rating on BK. Thanks in advance.
