Gambling operators that sponsor UK football teams

  • July 19, 2022

Both online casinos and bookies have been growing in popularity in recent years. At the same time, football has continued to be a sport that people just love to watch. Many of those fans also enjoy placing bets on football. It’s no surprise therefore that online operators are sponsoring UK football teams.

The online gambling companies want as many people as possible to be aware of their brands and registering with them. Becoming the sponsor of a football team in the UK is a good way of achieving that. With so many online bookies now available online, if you are to bet at one, it is always worth reading up and looking at a good website that specialised in rating and reviewing online firms.

Sponsorship can come in many forms and gives companies plenty of opportunities. These include shirt sponsorship which is an excellent way to spread awareness of your brand. There’s sleeve sponsorship too or simply becoming the gambling partner of a club.

Half of the clubs in the Premier League have shirt sponsorship from a gambling company with over £60m being received this season other deals bring in even more cash.

It’s not all about companies such as Betway hoping supporters sign up to their sportsbook. These sites also have impressive casinos, so they hope that football fans who love to play roulette or blackjack, will register accounts with them. They have a popular mobile app that has gone down a storm with punters keen to bet on the go.

Bournemouth have risen to the Premier League and their shirt sponsors are the Mansion Group. Statistics on the Bournemouth website state that Premier League fans are 10% more likely to be using gambling services compared to the general public. You can see therefore why the links are being forged.

BR88 are one company that has moved into the world of football sponsorship. They have a deal with Premier League Aston Villa that sees their logo on the sleeve. Newcastle United are currently in a £10m a year sponsorship deal with the Asian company Fun88. UK football is becoming more and more popular around the world thanks to lucrative television rights deals. This is leading to a rising number of overseas online casinos linking up with UK football teams.

Royal Panda launched in 2014 and the online casino have made huge strides since then. It’s popular for the online casinos to also move into the sports betting industry. Forging sponsorship links with a UK football team becomes even more important when that happens. Hence, their ongoing deal with Championship side QPR. They sponsor their shirt but also have a big presence at their ground as their official betting partner. This includes match-day promotions and activities during the half-time break.

It’s not just online casinos that have been or continue to be in deals with UK football clubs. Grosvenor Casino had a two-year deal with Fulham. When that deal expired, a new one with Dafabet was signed.

StarCasino are part of the Betsson Group and with Betsafe, they hosted the Star Sixes tournament at the O2 in London with further tournaments taking place around the UK.
There are so many ways in which casinos can forge links with UK football teams. With both football and casinos becoming more popular, this looks a healthy relationship for the future.
