The 5 Toughest Contenders In The 2020 Breeders Cup Juvenile

  • July 19, 2022

Established in 1984, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile is one of the racing fixtures to look forward to in this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Challenge. It is open for all two-year-old geldings and colts who will saddle up in a one 1/16th mile dirt track. This year, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile is introduced by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, featuring a $2,000,000 pot prize.

Like the significance that other Breeders Cup fixtures bring, the Juvenile race will serve as a debut run for horses who want to compete in a higher grade. It will also open various doors to many racehorses handicappers all over the world to claim and hone them to some of the world’s most prominent horse racing competitions.

The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile will highlight fourteen horses this year. All of them had undergone proper Breeders’ Cup selections and screening. As we draw near to this event, now is the time to find the strongest entries to bet for this category.

Here are the top five strongest entrants who will vie for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.

Jackie’s Warrior

Bred by J&J Stables, Jackie’s Warrior is a top contender for the upcoming Breeders’ Cup Juvenile this November. He is ridden by Joel Rosario and honed by Steven M. Asmussen. Since debut, this colt had made four racing accomplishments and remained undefeated. His current earnings settle at $402, 564.

Last October 10, 2020, Jackie’s Warrior attended the Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park and won the title. Besides, he also achieved two notable wins after participating in the Runhappy Hopeful Stakes and Saratoga Special Stakes. Jackie’s Warrior is a sure bet you can pick in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile as he has the strongest resume, to begin with.

Essential Quality

Essential Quality is the son of Tapit. This colt was born on April 9, 2018, and bred by Godolphin. He doesn’t have many horse racing achievements to offer as he vies for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile this year. However, his sire serves as the sole reason why he’s an excellent contender for the said Breeders’ Cup category.

Moreover, this colt is an entry by Luis Saez and Brad H. Cox. He made two racing starts and currently earned a total of $295,144. Essential Quality started his career last September 5, 2020, at the Maiden Special Weight, where he won right away. After that, he had his first stakes races stint at the Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity, where he also won the title.

Get Her Number

Get Her Number is a sire of Dialed In, who was born on April 14, 2018. He will be an entry to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile this year, ridden by Flavien Prat and trained by Peter Miller. Besides, this colt is bred by Philip Robertson and Brenda Robertson, with three racing starts since debut and current earnings of $219,000.

This colt started his racing career when he attended the Maiden Special Weight at Del Mar last August 14, 2020. After winning the racing game, he participated at Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes last September 7, 2020, and landed in fourth place. On September 26, 2020, he tried his luck at the American Pharoah Stakes, and successfully clinched the title.

Spielberg

If you think that Bob Baffert is only up for huge Breeders’ Cup fixtures, then he’s not. It seems that this trainer is all around the corner as he sends Spielberg to participate in the upcoming Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. With three racing starts since debut and current earnings of $97,000, he is one of the best colts to bet on for the said category.

Spielberg started his horse racing career last August 8, 2020, after participating in the Maiden Special Weight. After winning the title, his breeder, G. Watts Humprey Jr., had sent him to Del Mar to compete for the Runhappy Del Mar Futurity, where he got second place. Last September 6, 2020, Spielberg attended the American Pharoah Stakes and finished in third place.

Keepmeinmind

Completing the list of the top five toughest colts to expect at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile is Keepmeinmind. He was born on February 8, 2018, and a sire of Laoban. Ridden by David Cohen and trained by Robertino Diodoro, this colts had accomplished two racing starts with current earnings of $95,280.

Last September 2, 2020, Keepmeinmind started his career after attending the Maiden Special Weight at Churchill Downs, where he won the title. With this, Southern Equine Stables, LLC, has acquired him and sent him to his first graded stakes races. It happened when he landed second place during the Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity last October 3, 2020.

Takeaway

Out of the fourteen race horses competing for the upcoming Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, the five colts above are the toughest entries to consider. Hence, if you want to participate in the upcoming betting games under this category, make sure to get the latest above these entries as one of them can help you win the day.
