HISTORY
 
The Pittsburgh Pirates were founded in 1882 and play in the Central Division of the National League. Their team colours are Black, Gold, White and Grey. The Pirates have won the World Series on five occasions, most recently in 1979. They play at PNC Park which has a capacity of 38,496.
 
 
RECENT SEASONS
 
The Pittsburgh Pirates have not finished higher than 4th place in their Division since 1999. The last time they reached the playoffs was is 1992. In the past two seasons the Pirates have managed to record 67 victories. This was good enough for 5th place in 2006 but bottom of the standings the previous season.
