| The Carolina Hurricanes were originally founded in 1972 but have played under the current name since 1997. They won the Stanley Cup in 2006. The Hurricanes play in the South East Division of the NHL. The team colours are Red, Black, Silver and White. They play at the RBC Center. |

| The Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup in 2006 beating the Edmonton Oilers 4 - 3 in the final. Last season was a lot more disappointing for the Hurricanes. They failed to reproduce the form of the previous year and missed out on a playoff place winning just 40 matches. |
