Lap of 1st retirement - BEFORE 1.5 LAPS
Since the race in Bahrain appeared in the F1 calendar in 2004 the first retirement has been recorded before 1st lap completion in 3 cases.
This season will see 24 cars in the grid and it increases the chance of a collision in the first corner or after that.
There are 4 or 5 new drivers in the peloton for who this GP will be the first F1 race in their career, so the amount of such inexperienced drivers is enough to destroy a couple of cars at the first lap of the race.
F1 introduced 2 brand new F1 teams established from a scratch.
The speed of their cars in unbelievable low losing 8-10 seconds to the leaders per lap.
I feel this season can be specific and unusual given the facts above.
This is the opening race of the season and all drivers really looked forward to start their engines and push the pedal to metal to prove what they worth.
Previously the season started in Australia (Melbourne) and rare when the first lap didn't take the first victims out off the race. |
