The BMW Championship is always one of the most exciting tournaments of the year. It is staged at Wentworth which is familiar to the players as it also hosts the World Matchplay. We have gone for two players with excellent records here.

Angel Cabrera simply loves Wentworth. His distance off the tee gives him a big advantage at the par fives. His record in this event in recent years has been superb. He finished 2nd in 2001 and 2004 before landing the title in 2005. He came close again last year finishing T5. His recent form has not been great but he did finish T25 in the US Masters and reached the Quarter Finals of the Accenture Matchplay. As the US Open champion Cabrera will be confident he can win again.

Anders Hansen has only won two tournaments and they have both been at Wentworth. He tends to play well on certain courses. We tipped him two weeks ago in the Italian Open and he was in contention until a poor final round saw him slip to T17. It was his third consecutive top 20 finish in Europe. His wins in this tournament came in 2007 and 2002 and he also finished T4 in 2004. A third win maybe unlikely but would not be a surprise.

CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL

The Crowne Plaza Invitational returns to Colonial which is a relatively short course at 7,000 yards. The par 70 course is tight and will suit players that can shape the ball both ways.

Kenny Perry has done very well in this event in recent years landing the title in 2005 and 2003. He also finished T2 in 2002. Perry has been playing very well recently making 10 straight cuts. He was right in contention at the Players Championship until a poor final round saw him finish T15. Last week he went even closer losing out in a playoff to R.Imada. With such good memories in this event Perry can shake off those disappointments with a win at Colonial.

Steve Flesch is a proven winner on Tour having landed 4 titles including two last season. One of his tour wins came in this tournament in 2004 and he missed the cut just once in his last eight appearances. His recent form has been good rather than spectacular finishing in the top 30 5 times in his last 6 starts. In this spell he recorded a T5 finish at the US Masters which will have given him the belief he can contend with the big name players.
