The ATP event in Stockholm is officially called the If Stockholm Open. Matches are played indoors on hard courts.The event takes place in Mid October and attracts some of the leading players all aiming to make the top eight and Tennis Masters Cup.

The If Stockholm Open first took place in 1974 and consists of 32 players in the main draw. In recent years Thomas Johansson and James Blake have both won the title twice. Johansson nearly added a third title but lost out in the final last year losing to big serving Ivo Karlovic.
