The ATP event in Metz is officially called the Open de Moselle. It is a relatively new event on the ATP Tour first taking place in 2003. The tournament is played indoors on hard courts. It takes place in early October and there are 32 players in the main draw.
The Open de Moselle gives an opportunity for some up and coming French players to make an impact on the ATP Tour. Two french players have won the title since it began. The current champion is Tommy Robredo who defeated Andy Murray in the final despite losing the first set 0 - 6. |
