The Madrid Masters is part of the Tennis Masters Series which attract some of the world's leading players. Only the four grand slam event are more sought after than these events. The tournament is staged in Madrid, Spain and held in the month of October.

In recent years the Madrid Masters has received added press by using local models as ball girls. The event used to be played in Stuttgart, Germany and moved to Madrid in 2002. It is now played on indoor hard courts at Madrid Arena. The current champion is David Nalbandian.
