The ATP event in Los Angeles is officially called the Countrywide Classic. It takes place in late July and is played on hard courts. The event is held at the Los Angeles Tennis Centre, California, USA. The tournament has a history of over 80 years.

The main draw at the Countrywide Classic consists of 32 players. In recent seasons Tommy Haas and Andre Agassi have both won the tournament on two occasions. Radek Stepanek won the tournament in 2007 with an excellent win over James Blake in the final.
