The ATP event in Indianapolis is officially called the RCA Championship. It takes place in mid/late July at the Indianapolis Tennis Centre. The centre court has a capacity of 9,000 and matches are contested on hard courts. There are 48 players in the main draw.

The RCA Championship has been voted by the players as the best tournament on the ATP tour on over ten occasions. The Americans tend to produce their best tennis at the event. However in 2007 Dmitry Tursunov broke the trend when he won the title beating Frank Dancevic 6 - 4, 7 - 5.
