The tournament in Gstaad is officially called the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad. It takes place during the second week in July. The tournament was first held in 1915 and matches are played on clay courts. The Ray Emerson Arena provides a 5,200 capacity.

The Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad has attracted some of the games leading players in recent years and there have been some impressive winners of the event. The current champion is Frenchman Paul Henri Mathieu who beat Andreas Seppi 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 7-5 in a very close final.
