The Dubai Tennis Championship takes place in February and is held at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on hard courts. The tournament was first staged in 1993 and the top matches are now held in the 5,000 capacity, Dubai Tennis Stadium.

There are 32 players in the main draw and the event attracts some of the worlds best players. The current champion is Andy Roddick who has superb wins over Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic on way his way to the title. Four time champion Roger Federer lost in the first round to Andy Murray.
