The Costa Do Sauipe tennis tournament is better known as the Brasil Open. It is a relatively new event on the ATP, first taking place in 2001. It is staged on clay courts although prior to 2004 the competition was held on hard courts. It takes place in February and has a 32 man field.

The tournament attracts some of the leading clay courts players and has an impressive roll of honour. Below is a list of the winners of the event since it began. The current champion is Nicolas Almagro who defeated his fellow countryman Carlos Moya in the final 7 - 6, 3 - 6, 7 - 5.
