The Buenos Aires tennis tournament is the second clay court tournament to take place on the yearly ATP tennis calendar. It is staged in February and consists of 32 players in the main draw. Its full name is the Copa Telmex ATP Buenos Aires.

South Americans players have been very successful in the event winning five of the last seven titles. The man that has interrupted the trend is Spaniard Carlos Moya. The former world number one has won the event three times. His first victory came in 1995, he has also finished as a runner up in 2004.
