The ATP event in Bangalore is officially called the Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open. It took place for the first time in 2006 in Mumbai and moved to Bangalore in 2008. The tournament is played on hard courts and is held in late September. There are 32 players taking part in the main draw.

The first ever staging of the Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open took place in 2006 and the event was won by Russian tennis player Dmitry Tursunov. The current champion is Richard Gasquet who defaeted Olivier Rochus in straight sets in the final.
