The Adelaide International is one of the first events to take place on the ATP each season. It takes place at Memorial Drive, Adelaide, Australia. The tournament is played on Hard courts or Rebound Ace. The event has 32 players and provides a good warm up for the Australian Open.
The event was made famous in 1998 when Australian Lleyton Hewitt became the lowest ranked player to win an event in tour history. He was ranked 550th at the time of his victory. Since then there has been a while host of winners including British player Tim Henman. |
