Hyung-Taik Lee was born on January 3rd, 1976 in Hoingsung, Korea. He turned pro in 1995 and has one title to his name on the ATP Tour. He started playing tennis at the age of nine and is the most successful player ever to come from the country South Korea.
He made a name for himself in 2000 when he reached the 4th Round of the US Open before losing to Pete Sampras. In 2003 he won his first tournament on the ATP Tour in Sydney. He had to qualify for the event and beat Juan Carlos Ferrero in the final. His favourite surface is hard court. |
