Ivo Karlovic was born on February 28th, 1979 in Zagreb, Croatia. He turned pro in 2000 and has won twice on the ATP Tour. Karlovic is 6 foot 10 inches tall. making him the tallest ever playing to compete on the ATP Tour. He has one of the strongest serves in the game.

Karlovic made a real name for himself in his Grand Slam debut. It was at Wimbledon 2003 and knocked out the defending champion Lleyton Hewitt in the first round. In 2005 he reached his first ATP final at Queens Club but was beaten by Andy Roddick 7 - 6, 7 - 6.
