Lleyton Hewitt was born on February 24th, 1981 in Adelaide, Australia. He turned pro in 1998 and won his first tournament that year. He was the world number one for a long spell in 2000 and 2001 and proved very difficult to beat. He plays a defensive game, making very few errors.

Hewitt has won two grand slams. His first came in 2001 when he claimed the US Open. A year later he won the biggest tournament in his career when he won Wimbledon. In total Hewitt has won 24 tour events, including Queens Club and Sydney on four occasions.
