Robin Haase was born on April 6th, 1987 in The Hague, Holland. He turned pro in 2005 and is the number one ranked player from Holland. He was an excellent junior and was ranked number 3 in the world shortly before turning pro. He is yet to win an ATP event.

In 2007 he reached the semi finals in Amersfoort in front of a home crowd but was beaten by Werner Eschauer. Later that year he had his first win over a top 10 player beating Tomas Berdych in the Canada Masters. He also made his Grand Slam debut at the 2007 US Open.
