Paul Goldstein was born on August 4th, 1976 in Washington DC, USA. He turned pro in 1998 and is yet to win on the ATP Tour. Goldstein was an outstanding junior player and had an excellent collegiate career. In 1994 he made his debut in the US Open as a wildcard.

He won his first Challenger event in 1998 and the following year had his best result in a Grand Slam by reaching the 3rd Round of the Australian Open. His best season came in 2005 when he reached four Challenger finals and won two titles. Then in 2006 he reached two semi-finals on the ATP Tour.
