Guillermo Coria was born on January 13th, 1982 in Rufino, Argentina. He turned pro in 2000 and has won nine titles on the ATP tour. He is one of the fastest players on the tour and is an excellent clay court player. He has had problems with his serve especially the ball toss.
At the 2004 French Open, Coria was the tournament favourite and he reached the final and took a comfortable two sets to love lead. He then faltered to allow Gaston Gaudio back into the match. In the final set he was two breaks of serve ahead but still lost. Since then his game has slumped due to injury. |
