Guillermo Canas was born on June 8th, 2005 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He turned pro in 1995 and plays a defensive game. He won his first tournament in 2001 and the following year landed the Canadian Masters with wins over Roger Federer and Andy Roddick en route.

2004 was Canas best season as he landed three more titles. He wa s then banned for a year after failing a drugs test. Since his return he has managed to win one more tournament, 2007 at Costa Do Sauipe beating Juan Carlos Ferrero in the final 7 - 6, 6 - 2.
