Jonas Bjorkman was born on March 23rd, 1972 in Vaxjo, Sweden. He turned pro in 1991 and has won six tournaments on the ATP Tour. He had his best season in 1997 when he won three titles and reached his highest ever ranking of number four in the world.

When he was eighteen years old he became the Swedish junior champion. Bjorkman is an excellent doubles player as well. He has won numerous doubles events including a hatful of grand slam wins. In 2006 he surprised everyone by reaching the semi-finals of Wimbledon aged 34.
