Michael Berrer was born on July 1st, 1980 in Stuttgart, Germany. He turned pro in 1999 and has won 4 events on the Challenger Circuit. 2007 was the best season for Berrer as he reached the Semi Final in Moscow with wins over Jose Acasuso and Mikhail Youzhny.

He also reached the Quarter Finals in Los Angeles and 's-Hertogenbosch. Berrer qualified for the US Open and Wimbledon reaching the 2nd Round of both. In 2008 he had his best run in the Australian Open again reaching the second stage of the tournament.
