Igor Andreev was born on July 14th, 1983 in Moscow, Russia. He turned pro in 2002 and has won three ATP Tour titles. Andreev started playing tennis at the age of seven. When he was fifteen he moved to Valencia, Spain to receive some better training.

He made his ATP Tour debut in September 2003 and caused a huge shock defeating the number one seed Nikolay Davydenko. The following year he had his best performance in a Grand Slam reaching the 4th Round at Roland Garros. In 2005 he won three times on the ATP Tour.
