Jose Acasuso was born on October 20th, 1982 in Pasadas-Misiones, Argentina. He turned pro in 1999 and has won three ATP Tour titles. Acasuso plays his best tennis on clay courts. He has a strong serve and hard groundstrokes. He plays in a very relaxed manner.

He played in his first ATP tournament in 2001 and went all the way to the final before losing. The following year he won his first event in Sopot. His progress was then haltered by a serious of injuries and he did not win again until 2004. His last victory came in 2006 at Vina Del Mar.
