Aintree Racecourse is home to the biggest horse race of the year The Grand National. Aintree is situated in Liverpool and has two left handed courses. The Grand National circuit is 2 miles, 2 furlong. It is flat with big fences that have a drop on the landing side. There is a long run that provides an entertaining finish to the race.

The other course, the Mildway course is 1 mile, 3 furlongs and has more conventional fences which are sharper than the National course. The course is located on the A59, one mile from the M57 and M58 which link the M62 and M6.

DIRECTIONS

From the South - Leave the M6 at J21A and join the M62 west. Leave the M62 at J6 to join the M57. Then follow the signs for the races.

From the North - Leave the M6 at J26 and join the M58, then follow signs for the races.

By Train - The nearest mainline station to Aintree is Liverpool Lime Street. Liverpool Central Station is just a short walk from Lime Street where you can catch a train to Aintree. Aintree station is directly opposite the Racecourse.
