The July Cup is a Group 1 flat horse race for 3 year old and above thoroughbred horses. It is now regarded by many as the best sprint race in the UK. It is run over a distance of 6 furlongs which equals 1207 meters. The most recent winner of the race was Sakhee's Secret who won in 2007. The race takes place at Newmarket racecourse in early July each year.
