The Coronation Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race contested by three year old thoroughbred fillies. It is the fillies equivalent of the St.James Palace Stakes.It is held at Ascot Racecourse during the Royal Ascot festival in June. It is raced over a distance of 1 mile. It was first run in 1840. The race was first run to celebrate the coronation of Queen Victoria two years earlier.
