The Sony Open in Hawaii is the second tournament of the year on the PGA Tour. It is held in January the week after the Mercedes Championship. It is played at Waialae Country Club in Honolulo. In 2007 KJ Choi won the title with a score of -14 under par for the four rounds.
It has become renowned for letting teenage sensation Michelle Wie compete against the men. She has played in the event for the last four years but has failed to make the cut on any occasion. In 2007 Tadd Fujikawa became the youngest player to make the cut for 50 years (age 16). |
