The Northern Trust Open is a PGA Tour event and takes place in February. The event is staged at the famous Riviera Country Club. The event used to be known as the Nissan Open but changed its name in 2008 due to a change in sponsor.

The current champion is Phil Mickelson who shot a final round of -1 under par to give himself a two shot victory over Jeff Quinney. Other recent winners of the event include the likes of Mike Weir, Adam Scott, Robert Allenby and Ernie Els.
