The John Deere Classic is a PGA Tour event and takes place in July. The current champion is Kenny Perry from America. The tournament takes place at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois which has hosted the tournament since 2000. It is held a week prior to The Open.

Due to this many of the leading players are already in Britain either playing tournaments or practicing on links courses. This has resulted in relatively weak fields in recent years. In 2008 Kenny Perry won the title beating Jay Williamson and Brad Adamonis in a playoff.
