The Dubai Desert Classic takes place in Dubai, UAE. It takes place early in the European Tour schedule, either in February of March. The tournament is staged at the Emirates Golf Club and was first played in 1989. It was the first European Tour event to be held in the Middle East.

The tournament is renowned for attracting some of the biggest names in golf. Recent winners of the event include Tiger Woods and Ernie Els. Tiger Woods landed the title again in 2008 thanks to an amazing final round of 65 including a back nine of just 31 shots.
