The Bridgestone Invitational is one of the four World Golf Championships. It used to be the NEC Invitational which took over from World Series of Golf in 1999. The event takes place at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, United States. The tournament has a limited field of around 75 players.

Players qualify into the event if they were a member of the last US & International Presidents Cup teams or a member of the last US and European Ryder Cup teams. Invitations are given to any player that is in the worlds top 50 on the Monday of the tournament.
