HISTORY
 

The BMW Championship is a new PGA Tour event taking place for the first time in 2007. It is staged in early September. The tournament will take place at Cog Hill but the courses will be rotated each year. It is the second last tournament on the PGA Tour schedule.

The BMW Championship has been introduced as part of the new FedEx Cup system. It is one of the playoff events and will consist if the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup. The top 30 players after this event will then proceed onto the Tour Championship.
