The Barclays Classic is a PGA Tour event and takes place in August. The current champion is Steve Stricker from America. The 2008 tournament will take place at Ridgewood Country Club. It began in 1967 and has recently been called the Buick Classic.
The Barclays Classic has attracted a strong field in recent seasons and has produced some impressive winners. Vijay Singh has won the title three times and Sergio Garcia has two victories since 2001. The 2005 event produced an exciting finish when Padraig Harrington eagled the last hole to win by one. |
